If you have a slow internet connection then we can't do anything about that, the only solutions is to upgrade to faster connection. But if you have a high speed internet plan and you still experience games lags and low fps (framerate per second) then your computer hardware or software might not support high end games like Dota2.
Dont worry though we have an answer for that! all you need to do is to adjust the visual effects, you might wanna sacrifice the eye candy to enjoy playing
lowering graphics quality can increase the fps and greatly reduce game lags. Dont worry this wont affect the game play, nothing will change in the controls or whatever just the graphics.To do this:
1. Open Dota 2 then go to Settings (click the gear button at the top left)
2. Click on VIDEO/AUDIO tab
3. Click on ADVANCED tab under VIDEO
4. Here you will see the adjustments you can do.
Under the Game Screen Render Quality adjust it to 90% first, then try to play, if its still laggy reduce it again to 80%. Adjust it to achieve the best performance for your game.
