I give an edge to PC, more versatile for me
multipurpose, but the topic is for gaming so I think they're quite the same lol

I'd go for PC, the price of a high end PC is just the same as the latest consoles eg. PS4, if we talk about upgrades, you can upgrade PC hardware parts one by one you don't need to upgrade the whole set (mainly graphics card and processor), while for consoles you have to buy a whole new version if you're console already can't support the latest games, although as said above consoles support for new games last for years, approx. 5-8 years before game developers end their support for old consoles.
My main point here is PC upgrade is cheaper, If you plan to buy a pc, get one with the latest hardware to avoid expenses in future upgrades.
