Did Fortnite Kill PUBG?

The phenomenal game of 2017 PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is now losing players drastically. If you check steamcharts website you can see the number of PUBG players went down by almost half since January 2018. The average number of players this month of may is now at 800k compared to the 1.5m average players January of the same year.

Is this because of the game Fortnite? which already surpassed PUBG in terms of players count.

Fortnite is also a battle royale game of which PUBG did file a law suit against. Although many gaming enthusiasts believe that PUBG has no right to sue Fortnite as they do not really own the battle royale genre or game mode. I feel sad for PUBG but they shouldn't focus on suing Fortnite but instead they should work on making their game better.

Will the number of PUBG players continue to plummet? or can they make something happen to keep up with Fortnite. Post a reply below if you have something in mind!

I don't think so sir. There are lots of loyal PUBG players. Yes, there is a huge decrease of PUBG players and switching over to Fortnite but I don't think it will totally kill PUBG. Just because there are people that prefer the more realistic graphics and gameplay of PUBG rather than the cartoonish graphics of Fortnite.

I was watching Shroud's stream one time and there was a question he answered because there are VR developers looking to create a battle royale game in VR, he said that it will not kill PUBG because there are a lot of loyal players and I think the same could be said with Fortnite.
